How Hard for Old People To Install a Hensley

We are getting a 2005 25' Excella. I will be using a 2020 Suburban for TV.

Ok, I want a Hensley hitch. I am wondering how difficult it will be to install if I have to do it myself. I'm 76, wife is 66. I am good with tools and mechanical things, but I am not super strong by any means. (Skinny runt).

Big Orange piece looks mighty darn heavy.

I have asked Hensley for location of an installer, but I am anticipating nothing will be near by.

Comments or advice? (No laughing, though!)

Cheers,
Mark

Sounds like you have the mechanical aptitude for the job. I have installed a few of them. There are a few critical measurements and drilling of holes. The instructions are pretty thorough. There are probably some good Youtube videos available. It will take some time for the installation and proper adjustments.

The big orange hitch is heavy but only has to be lifted one time until it's time for maintenance. A floor jack can be used to get the main hitch in place. Myself, I just lifted it up and had my wife flip the latch on the tongue.

Great! It sounds doable. After I posted this, wifey suggested I could get the a neighbor to help with the orange piece. The rest of the mechanical stuff doesn't worry me.

Thanks Crispy!

Now, all I need is a trailer to put it on!
