Hitch gurus...

Are there any Andrew T clones out there? I'm willing to pay for his expertise and for some direction. My brother has a steel fab shop and is a certified welder and I have a four post lift. The vehicle in question is a 2013 Grand Cherokee with the hemi and factory tow package. The trailer is a 2006 Safari 25FB weighing 6280#.

Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.

I'm no hitch Guru. However I towed a 21 foot Bigfoot (GVW 6300#) with a 1999 Grand Cherokee with 4.7L V8 and Quadra drive II. Absolutely not a problem at all in 3 years of towing all over the west.. I used an Equal-I-Zer hitch. I don't know that much about the newer Grand Cherokees, but I would hope they are as capable.

Contact the man himself. Most of the OEM's furnished schematics/diagrams right through the 1970's on how to build a hitch for one of their cars. I've read more than one post where plans were obtained through Mr. Thomson.

The OEM hitch will be fine as long as the wt specs and hitch type are adhered to.

There is quite a bit of info on the Can Am RVs web site.
