What lubricant is best for hitch balls? We are using a Blue Ox Sway Pro.

Anyone have experience with this product?

Keep your money! Any solid lubricant will do and most of us have something on the shelf. Wheel bearing grease if fine for instance.
Wipe the hitch with a clean rag, grease holds dirt, than reapply as needed.
If you want to get fancy....resist!!!

I like the Equal-i-zer brand grease, mainly because its packaged into a compact spill proof toothpaste tube like container. Most grease is the spray type, which splatters everywhere, or the tub with the snap on cover that seems to snap off while on the road and spill everywhere.

High quality, water resistant. I also use this on the contact points of my Equalizer hitch. I transferred the contents to a sturdy plastic container with a twist on lid so no chance of it coming off while traveling.

I spray this on the ball each time before I hook up the trailer. Works great. Not messy once it dries and it only takes a couple of seconds to dry.

grease is great but it’s super messy! I got sick of getting grease on my pants so I switched to this for the hitch/receiver connection.

I cleaned the hitch with brake cleaner spray and simply rubbed on the wax lubricant. No more globby grease on my pants.

Any grease will work,
I keep a small plastic container of grease in the trailer. When I have extra grease from other jobs, like when pack bearings and have a big glob of grease leftover I add that to my trailer container.

I have used it as well as Blaster White Lithium Grease in a spray can. Both worked well. I like the fact that you can simply spray it on the hitch ball. Just a bit more conviennent in my opinion.

Love it when the spray lubricant cap comes off and the nozzle gets depressed, lubricating everything within range, usually my tool/spare parts box. Tubed grease rocks.

Another satisfied user of Reese TowPower hitch ball lubricant. I have utilized the Reese products starting with my first travel trailer in 1980 when it was called On the Ball hitch ball lubricant. It has always come in a convenient package that is well sealed and easy to use. I do keep one of the hitch ball covers on my hitch when it isn't in use to help reduce the amount of dirt attracted to the lubricant.

Bought a tube of Yamalube 10 years ago. For off-road biking, so it's supposed to not pick up so much grit. I don't know if that's true, but still have over half the tube left and it's worked well. It is a grease, so I use a rubber glove to wipe it on -- and try to avoid the ball when walking by ...

I don’t use anything at all now for almost 50 years of towing and never suffered failures of any kind….and no soiled pant-legs…. until I walked over to talk to another camper wanting help getting unhitched who had slobbered grease all over his hitch.

I did observe one camper who took an old plastic milk-jug and cut the bottom corner out…placing it over his hitch. He claimed it worked great.

Another used the bottom cut out of a water bottle … using another one each time he hitched-up.

I started using hitch grease because I noticed some galling on my hitch ball after my first couple of trips. The key to avoiding a mess is a light application. I always put a rubber hitch ball cover on the ball after unhitching.

I can no longer resist...

I usually keep my balls covered and generally don't lubricate them.
