2. Mine was plug and play. My 2015 Tundra was prewired at the factory for a brake controller. All I had to do was watch the YouTube video, buy the correct adaptor, and plug in the P-3. It should have been a 15 minute job, but I stretched it to an hour because I took off the dash panel to mount the bracket.
At worst, the controller has 4 wires. A. Brake light. B. Ground. C. 12 v.battery D. wire to trailer brakes.

3. No. It's part of the hitch. I'm happy with the Equalizer brand hitch. Anti-Sway is built in.

But what are you using as a tow vehicle? It needs a 2" receiver (or larger) and a 7 way RV plug to utilize the trailer wiring. Tow package is a plus but with a 16' not critical.
Also, you could buy the hitch yourself on Amazon. It's not rocket surgery and knowing how it works is good. The dealer will charge you about $300 extra, but mount and adjust everything. If you don't have large wrenches, then it's not a bad idea to have an expert do it once.

Ditto, we newbies like the Equal-i-zer too so far! Yes, our 2017 CTD 2500 Ram had the tow package ready to go. Dealer helped us adjust gain so just slowed rig down on level. You might look at Equali-zer You Tubes als0

I have been researching hitches for days, so any advice is welcomed. I have a 2016 ram rebel 4 x4 to pull a 1960 tradewind with hydraulic surge brakes. I want a wdh with sway bars, but cant find anything that its compaitble for both truck and trailer.

Has anyone towed with a....CV transmission?

Friction bar should work fine for the 16' sport.

We used friction on our 63 22' Safari.. no problems.👍

I just recently bought a 27FB Globtrotter so my research on the hitches is fresh. I chose the new Reese Stedi-Flex and I am very happy with it. The WDH spring bars ride on friction pads in the trailer brackets so it gives you a controlled friction surface for the anti-sway. I have towed twice now, once from Arizona to Texas and the second time was from Dallas to Houston and back. The trip from Arizona to Dallas (My first tow!) was in a 50 MPH dust storm. Performance was fantastic. I was so glad I did my research! I never had to slow down below 55 even with 50 MPH gusts. Wind was mostly behind me and I got 21 mpg from the tow vehicle! (A Chevy 1500 with option NHT "Max Trailering")

The Steadi-flex was a bit noisy at first, but I sprayed the top and bottom of the spring bars where they fit into the ball yoke with "gel" WD40 (from Wally World). Now I hardly even hear anything from the hitch.

Not sure if the Steady-Flex will fit with the surge brakes. What has usually been the issue with finding something compatible?

I’m a huge fan of Air- Safe hitch! My TV is a Dodge 2500 and we were concerned that our trucks suspension was too rigid for the trailer and opted for this hitch. It helps tremendously with the transference of feedback movement from truck to trailer. We don’t use nor need sway bars and definitely not WD in our specific setup. The only downside is the hitch is $$$.

Note: This hitch was initially purchased for our TV and a 16’ Bambi. We instead bought a 23’ and find its perfect.
