If the bars are 6000 lbs, that sounds about right. However, if the gross trailer weight of the hitch head is 6000, you will be past the max once loaded to travel.
I have an equalizer 6000# for my TW. The bars are 600lb. The tongue weight on my TW is over 500 so you might check your tongue weight before you buy. If you need assistance the customer service folds at Equalizer are first rate, give them a call.

I have a diesel Excursion.
My Equalizer has worked fine for me for the 6 1/2 years I have had the trailer. It functions as a sway control. No sign of wear.
I have to adjust the support brackets from time to time as they are bolted to the trailer frame and have a tendency to "walk" on the frame.
I have to be careful going over whoop de doos and vados or the hitch will bottom out.
