It works, but is a tight fit. It goes in fine unhitched, but I usually have to tap it in with a block of wood when on the ball. In my case, a 1/4" pin would probably work better, but I haven't tried to track one down yet.

Looks like the OEM pin may be 1/4"

Thanks Tyler. That link helped, but of course it was the *only* one TS didn’t have on the shelf. Told to check back in a week.

The bolt I use is 1/4” but a 5/16” bit fits nicely thru. I can go either way but the 5/16” has a larger bail so that’d be nice.

I am in the same "boat" so to speak. I have a 2005 19' Bambi International & I have never pulled her without the locking pin in the ball hitch. Just received my new 2024 Trade Wind and no pin was included. The Huyett 5/16" X 4" Clevis locking pen would work but I cannot find it retail. Not opposed to a bent arm pin either but the effective lenth must be 3.5-4.0 inches. Maybe peace of mind only but I am not towing her without the pin! Thanks so much! Henry Bratt, Tucson

I found a Paclock USC-79A. Max grip 2.92". I added a couple of washers to take up the slack at the max grip on the Demco.

MasterLock

I use the hitch lock from MasterLock as additional security to the yellow guy in the ball. You can buy a hoop pin on "A" that will also work.

Last year at an AS dealer there was a problem with the ML hitch pin - they used a big pair of channel locks and it was off in less than 30 secs.
