Hello! I am a competent trailer tower. I have towed our Bambi II (factory dry weight
1950 lbs; tongue weight 250) with an Eaz Lift Elite towing system as recommended and supplied by Can-Am. For the Bambi II, I use 600 lb. weight distribution bars. Tow vehicle is a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder.
We recently purchased a
1961 TradeWind (factory dry weight 3130 lbs; tongue weight 340 lbs.).
My question: will 600 lb. bars do the job for the TradeWind as well? We towed it home with that equipment, and all seemed fine. But, would 800 lb. bars serve me better or cause too much tension and stress on the Airstream?
I need another adjustable hitch insert to get the basic height correct anyway (and I am going to utilize a single sway bar with the TradeWind; I do not use one with the Bambi II), so while I am searching used trailer hitches and equipment, I just need to know if I should be considering heavier strength bars as well.
