2017 F350 & ProPride Hitch Bar Setup

Hello

I just purchased a new two vehicle. A 2017 F350. I was running ProPride with my previous vehicle.

I'm curious what folks have done for optimal hitch bar setup on a F350 with their pro pride. I think I need to drop my adjustment lower on the hitchbar.

If folks are willing to share some pics that would be great.

Thanks!

The hitch bar needs to be set so that the trailer is level when hooked up and the WD jacks are set as you plan to run. An approximation of the change you need to make is the difference in the height of the receivers on the two tow vehicles. It is only an approximation because the 350 may not squat as much as your previous TV.

Depending on what you have now, you may want to swap the weight bars for something with a lower weight rating. If you have 1000# bars, consider swapping for 600#.

Thanks for the replies. I definitely have the 1000# bars. What will swapping to the 600# bars do for the set up?

Thanks.

I have a 2017 F350 towing a 28' International with a Propride. Before the F350, I was towing with an F150 and using 1400 lb bars. I exchanged several messages with Sean at Propride about ordering lighter bars for the F350. He told me to just stay with the 1400 lb bars and back down the amount of load I'm dialing in with the jacks.

This is what I have done, only doing a little bit of weight transfer. I'm sitting level, no porpoising, rides well in the truck, everything is riding well in the trailer, no popped rivets, no sign of stress. I couldn't be happier with how this turned out and really thought I'd have to downgrade the bars.

Also, even with the high hitch receiver on the newer F350's, I was fine with adjusting the stinger down to the lowest level so no need for a bigger drop.

Hope this helps and enjoy your F350.
