I too have a 2015 Tundra, and I know what the gas consumption is, but I opted for build quality in the long run.
However, to help offset the fuel, You southeast folks who shop at Publix, about every three weeks their sale flyer has a coupon for a Shell gas card. A $50 Shell gift card costs $40. That's a 20% saving. So I've been saving my big grocery runs for those weeks, and try to stock maybe three cards away for my future trips. (one card for every $50 in groceries)
Not only are you saving 20% on gas, but you needn't worry about skimmers on pumps because none of your bank information is on the card.
After the MH getting 600 miles on a tank, though, stopping every 200 miles to gas up will be painful, but it's the price I paid.

All the load capacity we ever needed.

I always cringe when I see this statement. It makes me wonder if the truck is way over the weight limit, but the owner is comfortable with that. I am not saying that is the case here, but I always wonder.

Cringe no more. Fully loaded for 6 months cross-country travel, weighed each trip, we run 300 lbs under each (front and rear) GAWR 3900 lb axle and 1,000 lbs under GCWR (truck, trailer, hitch and all loaded). The axle loads vary little (20 lbs) one year to the next. The truck handles, brakes, and rides beautifully.
I cringe when I see a poorly set up weight distribution system, sag at the rear, steering axle afloat and all the owner is concerned about is a ridiculous payload number that has more to do with hauling than towing.

Agreed that too many use guesstimates. Then buy a less-capable TV simply because it can carry more.
One uses scale tickets to know tire load.
Unbroken tire traction is the other concern, thus setting WD with scale-derived values.
Testing TV tire pressure based on actual load is finalization.
It's thus an accurate statement to make given some diligence in set up.
But this seems an insurmountable task more often than not given rarity of reports . . which is puzzling as it's not hard to get readings. Those are the starting point. A few tweaks may apply. And then those readings are confirmation and basis for future checks plus as diagnostic reference.

And it just so happens that the one specification limit you are over is the one that is ridiculous, good thing that worked out...

2015 Ram/Cummins shortbed with AirSafe & Blue Ox. So far, no problems at all although I would not want to use the truck as a daily driver. I use it exclusively for towing or hauling.

Well I had a 2007 tundra crew cab with the 5.7 and owned it fir 10 yrs. it's a great truck but with a GVWR of 7000lbs, with a topper on top I weighed it at the cat scale and weighed 6500lbs with me, the wife dogs and stuff loaded in the back, that's before even hooking up a 1000lb tongue weight airstream on there. That's not enough for my comfort, so now we have a 2017 f350 diesel and it's my daily driver which is fine with me. Truck is awesome and fun to drive.

What did the scale show was the TW load on front & rear axle of that previous truck?

What do you tow your 27 FB with?
I didn't weigh the airstream because we didn't have it yet. That's why a weighed the truck before I bought the airstream

GMC Sierra 1500 SLT crew cab with 420 hp 6.2 liter and max trailer tow package. Totally satisfied; 2 cross-country trips and all over mountain west, California, PCH end-to-end, you name it for 30,000 miles. 11-13 mpg towing @60 mph. Would have preferred 30+ gallon fuel capacity rather than 26, but I never had to resort to the 3 gallons in the generator gas can. Got pretty close to that on the way to Tonopah Nevada. Quiet truck; cruises along at 1800 rpm like a diesel.

Just finished adding a dexter 2.875" lift to the #11 axles of my 27FB. The setup fits my LX570 tow vehicle much better! Accessing some of the blind nuts to fit the blocks was a bit tight but doable with just an open end wrench. There was absolutely no welding of bolts necessary like some tutorials I've researched.
She tows just the same, but no more scraping!
Some nice unexpected bonuses: Easier on on my back when accessing all the compartments, including dumping. The extra height advantage of the dump outlet will definitely help at some dump stations too.
We need some more visual aids in here. Returning from a local weekend trip today.
