Upping our game in towing & switching from 2009 Tahoe to 2015 Ford 250 XLT

After only towing our 2007 25' Safari home from purchase 2 1/2 hours away with our 2009 Tahoe, and only owning her a month, hubby decided he wanted more power and increased towing ability. So what does he do?

He traded in his sport's car for a 2015 Ford 250 XLT. It has extremely low mileage and is under warranty (but we still extended that). However, it isn't perfect on the inside. There are some minor blemishes on the upholstery.

I wasn't sure this was a good idea because with it seating 6 and large crew cab, it is a massive vehicle to me. Just climbing into it makes me feel like I'm on a hike But, it has a capacity to tow more than double what our Tahoe is rated for. And, with the lined bed, taking three bikes just became a heck of a lot easier.

We had no problems with the Tahoe towing the Airstream the one time we did it, but hubby quickly realized going the speed limit (55-65) made it rough on the Tahoe and it was noticeable around the very hilly portion of the trip.

Anyone else switch from a 1/2 ton SUV to truck? Does anyone own the same or a similar truck? If so, I 'd love to know your experiences.
