I didn't say you said I was dumb, I said 'boy am I dumb', based on my experience.

Transmission Cooler

And he doesn't live in the heat. Gaskets, weatherstripping and underhood rubber lives forever up there in WNY. Probably has the OEM A/C system on his Suburban.

Transmission Cooler

Thats cool Robert, I just didn't want any hard feelings, that certainly was not my goal at all.

I guess my point was that the makers of these kits often put crap hoses in their product.

When I was in my twenties I had a truck that I installed an external filter and oil filter on. It blew a hose and sprayed oil on the hot exhaust before the kit was a year old. Somehow, fortunately, the billowing cloud of smoke didn't catch fire.

This was one of those learned experiences that seemed important enough to pass on.

Too often a person feels obliged to use the stuff that is thought to be "engineered" to work with their product. Not always a great idea.

Here's a picture of my external spin-on filter. I got the kit from Summit Racing. This is on my 2008 F-250, but I also added one to my wife's Lincoln LT truck, similar to an F-150, only had to attach it below near the bumper.
