Toyota Land Cruiser-Brake controller?

We are purchasing a Land Cruiser to pull a 25 ft EB.

Does anyone know if a brake controller is required, or is the does the vehicle automatically send the brake signal through the 7-pin connector?

Thanks.

Welcome Aboard....

Yes, I believe you will need a brake controller for the Land Abuser.
If it has a hitch and wiring it may have the controller, ck with dealer.

Not a common tow vehicle but someone here may have more info.
You WILL need a good weight distribution hitch with sway control.
Plenty of good info on whats available right here on the forum.

Don't forget to come back and post pic's when you get the AS, it's required.

Sweet Streams....

If the wiring is like the Tundra, it will be prewired for a brake controller with a connector hidden up against the firewall somewhere near the parking brake, brake and gas pedals. All we had to do was purchase a brake controller (we got a Tekonsha Prodigy) with a "Toyota wiring harness", mount the controller and plug it in. There was a plastic pocket a little larger than a cigarette pack that just popped out, and the Prodigy fit in the dash in that hole. We didn't even have to drill any holes in the dash for the mounting bracket.

Just a suggestion, but make sure you pick a brake controller you will be happy with. Controllers last a long, long time, and a few bucks difference in price up front will either make you a happy camper, or make you regret your purchase.
