My 4Runner limits are 5000lb and 500lb at the hitch.

My TV has no problem with a heavy 17ft BW fishing boat

but I’m I pushing its limits with the 19 ft Bambi?

We want to eventually cruise around the USA with it!?

Specs on the 2021 Bambi 19 footer

Base wt 3650

Max GVWR 5,000

With a net carrying limit of 1,350

19 ft Bambi has a hitch at of “525” slightly over!?

Would my 4Runner with a good WD hitch do the trick!?

Hello Gills....I have a 2016 Bambi 16’ with a 3500 GVWR, and 350 LB tongue weight which was increased to 450 LBS because of some additional weight from segment protectors which I installed and a larger Battery.....I also changed from 14” to 15” wheels including the spare which added a little more to the tongue weight....I guesstimated that I added another 100 lbs of tongue weight... I towed with a 4 liter 4Runner which did a decent job of pulling it ... A had a couple of times when the tail wagged the dog so to speak and the 4Runner was at its limits... It struggles going up the mountains and the motor sounded like it was really working very hard at 4000 RPM..... I started to get concerned with the motor and how much it had to work to pull it....It did well on flat ground .... I used it for 2 seasons and it was decent but I decided I needed more power so I changed the 4RUNNER to a Sequoia and it made a huge difference... My personal opinion is your 4RUNNER is not adequate for a 19’ ... It’s way too close to the margins.....Especially for going up and down the mountains..... I really liked the 4RUNNER, but it just wasn’t enough power for mountainous terrain....
