gotair -- What is your Argosy length? Yukon should be okay for some but I had to switch out tow vehicles with a 25' new Safari -- 1200# heavier empty than my 24' Argo!!! J.R. is intending to tow a 28, so he did the right thing.

Love that hill country J.R. Just don't let anyone mistake your Airstream for a deer!!!

Yep, I hear of too many people looking for a TV that will just make the grade for towing their trailer. They forget how many people will be riding in the vehicle and how much stuff will be packed in it. They also forget what the real weight of the trailer will be when fully loaded. You know, I'd rather have more than that 10-15% buffer and as pointed out earlier, the 3/4 ton has a beefier braking system among other things.

While not on many people's minds, I'm sure there are plush interiors of vehicle sitting in junk yards that can be used to upgrade a vehicle to the status you want. It just takes timing it right to get one before someone else does or weather takes it's toll.

Thanks all - got so excited that I misspelled Excursion. Anyway, just installed a prodigy brake control, Sirius radio, and a rear camera with the LCD in rear view mirror...heading out to Florida this weekend, should be fun. Thanks, ya'll. JR

My argosy is a 20 footer and its 3.ooo lbs empty and it has a single axle...
the ride with the Yukon seams better than the truck...although I realy havnt been anywhere with it yet... the truck exhibit's some bounce that I dont get with the Yukon.

I'd fully agree that a Yukon for the Argosy mentioned would be fine, but plug that into the equation of the thread starter (a 28' CCD) and I think that would not be the best choice tow vehicle IMHO.
