You just added nonsensical in your own post. To suggest 95 percent aren’t interested and 75 percent can’t afford one is just not true.

If and when an EV is made that matches or nearly matches the capabilities of an ICE tow vehicle, and does so for a similar cost, then much of the market will be very interested. Given the top of line Tesla Cybertruck will match the capabilities of the 250/2500 ICE vehicles, and do so at or below the price of those vehicles (depending on trim chosen), the timeframe for that change is now 2-3 years away.

The real decision people will face is whether they are willing to spend more time recharging than they would filling up with fuel. If that doesn’t bother the buyer, then the decision gets very easy.

For me, I don’t mind the extra wait, and if I am at a campground, don’t mind recharging at the post.

They are a real option, and people will buy and use them in large numbers. Likely not you, but I know you will have a hard time arguing that they don’t work once they are on the market.

Ford will use their platform for its EV’s, they are supplying Amazon EV Delivery trucks. Both Ford and Amazon have invested significantly in Rivian and production is underway for delivery beginning this year.

Why? Politics, that’s why. It’s too bad really. You can post all the pictures of windmill blades going into the landfill, all the “Tesla on fire” memes, and all the BS about how much pollution is created building this or that you want. It’s not gonna change a darn thing. Even if you’re in your 70s you will probably live long enough to see a real change in vehicle technology. You can crab about it all you want in your final years. It won’t change a thing.

Hello everyone, I’ve been reading the threads for a few years now, not sure if I’ve ever posted before.

I think if we would all think about the advantages of an electric truck for RV‘ing we might be able to look past the traditional ways of how things are done right now and think of new ways.

So an EV is basically a big BIG battery. Our RV‘s run on batteries. Batteries need to be charged. Of course you can charge your RV or EV at a charging station or campground or at home. Many people utilize solar to charge their rigs. Many people spend a ton of money on Lithium batteries to compliment a large solar array. What if you just spared yourself the large battery bank in your RV to use your EV battery. What if your RV has a roof full of solar and is able to charge your EV while driving. Now your range could be more than 300 miles. EV’s and RV’s could totally compliment each other.

I think we’ll see a lot of changes as battery tech and solar tech advances. It has already advanced a lot in the last decade. A solar RV and EV combo might very well be what we have all been waiting for. We just need to be a little open minded and understand that the EV industry is at the very beginning of what will be possible.

I'm only going to address this one point. You will want at least SOME battery capacity in the RV itself so it is not dead in the water when you take your BEV out sightseeing. Yes, I know you will say it is plugged into the post, but there are power failures. Also, the trailer needs a battery for the breakaway brake. If the only power available to the trailer is the BEV, then a trailer broken free can't activate its brakes.

During the trip we were on the same ferry to Newfoundland as the Airstream Viking Caravan. We didn't travel with them in Newfoundland, but crossed paths with them on multiple occasions. Our itineraries were very similar. Seven weeks later we left on the ferry a day or two ahead of them.

My point...real world towing with an EV was essentially the same as with an ICE vehicle.

Now I’m not drinking the koolaide yet but the auto tech in me finds this an alternative in the next 20 years. Until then A Diesel will tow our trailer
