For those of you driving half ton pickups and towing 27FB/28 AS. How close are you coming to towing capacity? I love the milage on the RAM 1500 Ecodiesel, but the builds I come up with show the towing at 7000. Most 28's are around 7600.

Mine is rated at 9,650lbs and my payload is 1400lbs according to door sticker.

You just need to play with the options, the Ecodiesel is suppose to have good towing capacity and can pull a 27/28 easily. Already folks around here doing so.

All I got

I have pulled the airstream for 14 years with the pickup, and it has always behaved perfectly, hope all is well with the car while I freshen up the truck.

Forget about the tow ratings with the ED.
Set your hitch up properly and go have fun!

Not sure this qualifies as a mid-sized tow vehicle , but its got max-sized horsepower . Camping in the California Redwoods earlier this month.

I bet you had a hard time getting the receiver hitch installed around the four exhaust outlets! And by how much did you lengthen the stinger ...
Hmmm ... what about this? Also, check my avatar ... both the trailer and car were anniversary models!

Perfect - one also never has to use the jack stand. Just raise and lower the 3-point hitch.

Well done!
