Revisiting Hybrid Highlander as a Towing Vehicle
Hi There,
I have been looking for a small vintage AS (17' -19' less than 2900lb) for weekend trips for the 2 of us, maybe occasionally take the 3rd person, my 80+ years old mom, to the beach or State/National Parks. It would be around 3 hours driving one way, some paved, not so steep mountain road for 2-4 night getaways. I also need a new vehicle to replace my 2006 Toyota RAV4. I have been looking at Highlander Hybrid Limited or Platinum, with 3500lb towing capacity. The reason I like Hihy is that I can use it as my daily going around vehicle as well, with really great mileage. Our ultimate goal is to have a Cybertruck as a towing vehicle, but the next 2-4 years we would like to do our part to move toward a greener option than a pure ICE vehicle.
There are some discussions about Highlander as TV in this Forum (2008 - 2016), but I am ONLY interested in a hybrid or EV. Thinking either a 2019 used V6 engine hybrid AWD or a new 2021 V4 with AWD.
Has anyone have real-life experience towing with a Hihy? Are there any modifications/hitch that we can do to our TV to make it more stable? I would love to hear from you guys! Thanks!
