Trailer mirrors added last Saturday to mine. The power fold feature is nice. My Silverado didn’t have that. Took me about 4 hours taking my time. Getting the door panels off was the most difficult part.

You did a great job with the mirror installation! Where did you get the mirrors? Where are some good online OEM sources as well as some good YouTube videos.

Thanks. I got the mirrors on eBay. They are GM mirrors. I also needed to buy a new wiring harness for each door. There are aftermarket mirrors for 60% less than I paid, but I wanted a real GM product.

Hi CaCraig, I also have a Denali trim Sierra and would like to have a set of tow mirrors. Could you provide a link you used to buy the mirrors on eBay as well as the harness? Thank you
Also any words of wisdom on the install?

The seller is GMPartsAuthority. The mirrors came with the correct harness. He has a 2018 Denali and put them on his truck too. Non-power folding mirrors are cheaper but I wanted them to fold. The big top mirror does jiggle a bit. I don't remember my trailering mirrors jiggling on my Silverado but these are GM mirrors.
I followed some videos on YouTube. It wasn't difficult.

Oh and one more question for you CaCraig, did you have to go to your local dealership to have the computer re-programed to have the new mirrors work properly?
Thx again

Yes, I did have to drill another hole for the extra post but I think there is a dimple where it’s supposed to be so there was no guessing.
My mirrors worked perfectly without re-programming.

Here's the best value I've ever gotten in a campsite. It's at Council Grove Lake - Caning Creek Campground. This is a Army Corps of Engineers Campground and accepts the federal Senior Pass. So with the pass, the daily fee is $11.00 for water, electricity and it was a level concrete pad with a covered picnic table and grill.

What size fuel tank is available in the GM 6.2 max tow configuration?
Thanks!

I wanted to add the the 6.2 is getting about 2 mpg better around town (not hauling) than the 5.3 in my 2015 Silverado. My average over the last 4 months is 19 mpg. The Silverado averaged just over 17 over the 3 years I had it.

Report on Chevy/GMC 1500 with 6.2 engine and Max tow pack
We only have a 20 FC but we are getting 18 with our 2018 6.2l Denali. We had only been getting 11 with our 2008 Tahoe
Towing only

I average around 12.5 mpg towing a 2018 FC30.
We got rear ended, so I left it in Jackson Center for repair. Not towing, but with the bed loaded we gassed up when we left JC. The first gas stop the trip computer says 24.4 mpg. My 5.3 never got close to that. Impressive.

Is the new model going to include the new 10speed or stay with the 8speed?

According to what I saw on The Fast Lane Truck on YouTube the 2019 6.2 will be mated with the 10 speed transmission.

For those who are interested, here's a link to the 2019 GM Fleet Buyers Guide. Information on the 1500 series Silverado and Sierra are located on pages 87 and 88. Note, this link downloads a .pdf document.
On another note, my wife and I returned a couple of weeks ago from a three and half week trip where we towed our 34' Limited over 4,000 miles (Wichita, KS to Charleston, SC to Savannah, GA to Asheville, NC to Great Smoky Mountain NP to Chattanooga, TN and back to Wichita). The truck handled the load beautifully. There was plenty of power to go up Mt. Eagle between Chattanooga and Nashville (lots of 6 to 7 percent grades up and down). The engine braking using the manually selected gears was wonderful. There's a huge difference between an eight speed and a four speed transmission. The GPS navigation is a delight to use going through unfamiliar cities (or anywhere).
My biggest concern is that the vehicle is underdamped loaded or empty and I wish that the fuel tank would hold ten more gallons. All in all, this truck is immensely better than my 2000 3/4 ton Yukon XL in towing this trailer. The seats and ergonomic layout of all controls and graphics are excellent too.
My next big upgrade will be to move to Bilstein 4600 shocks.

OP here. I would agree with you regarding the suspension being underdamped. It seems like it’s mostly the front that is that way. I wonder if the rear shocks are different with the max trailer tow package, but the front shocks are not. Is that Bilstein model specified for the Chevy/GMC? Would love to know a good replacement for the OEM shocks, given that my truck is coming up on 68K miles.
