Mirror extensions for 2014 Volkswagen Touareg

What are the best mirror extensions for a 2014 Volkswagen Touareg? I installed a set for our maiden voyage and one flew off halfway through the first leg of our trip. I don't recall the brand, but the attached photo gives an idea. These had dual ratcheting straps that tightened a pair of rubberized pads. I was told these were the best in class, with lots of adjustability and they did seem suitable for my mirrors. I took a long time adjusting them just right and they were snug, so I was really surprised when the passenger side extension jettisoned itself and shattered as we were cruising along at about 50mph two hours into the trip. Any advice appreciated.

I also use the Milenco mirrors. It takes a little practice to get them on securely. We just completed a 12,000 mile trip and still have the mirrors. I am considering some McKesh (sp?) mirrors which attach to the door with straps. Less of a chance of them coming off.

Milenco Grand Arrow

You can find these on Amazon selling under the JR Products name. They fit perfectly and stay in place - also, you can adjust how far out you want them placed which is good as closer to car = less vibration.

Been using the Milenco Aero2 mirrors on my Touareg for a year and a half now with no issues. I like that there's no straps or braces to scratch the paint on the door. They do vibrate a bit at high speed, but not so much that you can't see what's back there.
