Michelin Defender LTX for F150

We have a 25 RBQ FC. Getting ready for new tires for my Ecoboost F150. Any thoughts on these particular tires?

I have about 25,000 miles with them on my F150. They're showing wear and I'll be lucky to see 50,000 miles before replacement. Mostly highway miles too.

I run the E version on my 2500 truck and think they are good tires. I run the P235 15 version on my trailer and like them also. I would think the Michelins would be a good tire for your truck. I go for the wet traction and temperature ratings instead of how many miles they might go.

I believe you'll find the Defenders were discontinued last year.

My 2016 F150 Ecoboost has 60 thousand miles on it now with original tires. Goodyear Wrangler 275/65/R18 still have good tread.

The Tire Rack still lists the Michelin Defender LTX M/S on their web site as a replacement tire for the F150 in both 18" and 20" sizes. The M/S is considered a highway all season tire.

I have the Michelin LTX A/T 2, which is an on/off road all terrain tire on my F250. It's also available in sizes for the F150. On the assumption that you will be towing a trailer in situations off the pavement this tire might also be one to consider. Despite the more aggressive tread pattern I find it's comfortable and quiet on the highway and is wearing nicely so far. FWIW, I have had a very good experience with Michelins on a bunch of different vehicles.

I will be doing a bit of things to my truck and want a stronger LT tire than my OEM P-rated tires. After tons of research and going back and forth I feel the 275/65R20 Michelin Defender LTX M/S fit my need the best for an all around solid tire, highway driving and towing.

I have the Michelin LTX A/T 2 on my F150 primarily because the crushed gravel road to my place has slopes up to 10%. Other tires have gotten chewed up too quickly. It has also helped tire wear that I drive in 4A, meaning the truck automatically uses 4WD when tires start to slip.

Our 2014 F-150 S'crew came with these and I put 3 more sets of the successors on it. Ea. time we came close to 50K on the first two sets, trading with about 25K on the 3rd.
2019 F-150 came w/Goodyear Wranglers and eff hile they're OK, I don't expect but about 35 out of them. Road noise is more noticeable as well. I'll go back to the Michelins once there.

Shopping for nice tires at a Ford Dealership to match the Michelin 16 inch tires on my 2016 25 foot International. My 2014 Toyota Tundra 4x4 5.7L had Michelins, as well, as a trade in.

The tires are LTX AT2: LT 275/70R18 Load Range E Michelins on a Maroon 2016 F350 Diesel 4x4 Kings Ranch off the Dealer's Lot. Even the spare and wheel matched the other four.

They were firm on the price of the Tires.

We negotiated the price of the F350.

Most expensive tires I have ever purchased.

I have been using Michelins for 50 years since Sears started selling them. I have never had one blow out or tread separate on My TVs or TTs. That is why I run Michelins.

Ditto. The worst ones I ever had were Firestone products.

I never buy tires from car dealers. I get mine from Costco or Sam’s Club. Used to buy from Sears until they fell apart as a usable retailer of anything.

I run the Defenders on my work rig (Ram 2500 Cummings, 37 ft 5er max weight, 80 psi, 65 to 70 mph in the desert southwest from 120 degrees in Baker, CA to -10 degrees in Ely, NV. NO PROBLEMS.
More traction less miles, your choice. Use the guaranteed miles to prorate your next set.

I asked a tire guy if he ever mounted a tire that didn’t need balancing, said yes but only happens with Michelin’s.

No, Michelin changed the name of that tire design from MS3 to Defender. I run those in E rated LT tires on both my 30' Classic slider and my F250.
