Integrated TV and trailer TPMS question

I’m in the market for a 1/2 ton truck to tow a new 23’ GT for which we expect delivery in April 2021. Will probably buy a new truck. It seems most trucks (can) come with a pressure monitoring system. But I haven’t been able to determine if the trailers tires can be added and use the same monitoring system as that of the TV. Ideally would like one display for all eight tires.

Is this feasible and is Ford/GMC/Ram better in this regard. I’m in the process of weighing the various towing features pros and cons and am not really wetted to a particular brand.

Total truck newbie so please be kind.

With the GM twins, the trailer equipment package will give you the ability to integrate trailer tire pressures/temps into your center stack display. You will need to get compatible TMPS sensors to make this work.

I really like the GM option because it's built in to the truck interface (no extra screens or phones required to view temps/pressures) and it doesn't require any signal repeater devices like some of the other truck manufactures require.

When I ordered my truck, the TPMS sensor option was a paltry $50.

Correct. 2020 GMs can have optional TPMs added to trailer and then connected to vehicle display. I just picked up my new truck and it has the option. I have yet to purchase the sensors for the tires but probably will as my old TST system sensors need replacing - 2 leak. The GM sensors are comparable priced to the TST sensors but I will have to pay to have them installed.

Ford has an "individual trailer TPMS" option that will display the trailer sensors in the same screen as the TV sensors. Warning is for pressure only, temperature is not monitored. The trailer sensors are wireless internal sensors, and the option includes the wired controller that is required to be installed on the trailer, and which connects to the TV wiring harness. This controller is user installed. The MSRP for the option for 2021 is $500 on a Ford super duty truck. I ordered a 2021 F-250 a couple of weeks ago with this option.

Ford also has an option that contains both the trailer TPMS and a wired rear view camera for the trailer. The camera displays on the TV screen only when the TV is in reverse. I opted to stick with my separate rear view camera display so that I can have an always-on trailer rear view display.

I have the Super Duty TPMS/camera set up. I have no complaints.
