Gas 6.0/6.4 vs. Diesel

I’m looking to upgrade trucks from 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton. I’m towing a 27FC and I’m on my second engine on 2011 GMC Sierra. From what I found MPG wise, a diesel can get 600 miles a tank full where a Gasser will get about 400 miles. In Cali there’s about a 50 cent difference in cost per gallon. Based on fuel costs/MPG the diesel is cheaper. What engine do you prefer? Is one more costly than another?

I drove the gas and diesel versions of the Ram before I bought mine. The fuel and maintenance on the diesel both cost more but that Cummins engine is amazing so I chose the diesel. My truck is only for towing and stays garaged in winter.

I didn’t buy this truck for economy. My gas truck was great with the 27’. This diesel is even better.
