Ford TPMS & 2016 FC 26U

Hello all. I looking to add the:
Part No: LC3Z1A189A
SUPER DUTY 2017-2022 TRAILER SENSOR KIT WITH PRO TRAILER BACKUP ASSIST to our Airstream. Was wondering if anyone has done this? I was reading where some others with the screw on TPMS went with Dill valves. I reached out to them and they are great folks and pointed me to the correct valve that I would need if the stock Ford valves didn’t work. So - anyone had any luck adding this set up to their Airstream? We add the Halo RD10 a couple years back. Lovely set up, but if we can get everything built into the dash (TPMS & Camera) that would be AWESOME!!

Just installed the LC3Z1A189A kit in my '22 F350 & Intl 25FBQ yesterday...Works great!..Kit comes with everything you need. I had the TST aftermarket TPMS kit last season in my '18 SD.
I like Ford's kit better vs. TST system as the '22 SD came with the 12" display which raised the dash height above the display and now hid the TST display that I used to put in the upper dash tray, eliminates the power cord going up dash from USB plug to TST display (less dash clutter), and allows one glance look to see all pressures and temps at one view vs. the TST having to scroll through each wheel. Less time with eyes taken off road. Pressure threshold setting / editing is easily done through steering wheel buttons, initial training of system was also very easy.

For '22 Ford also added temperature to the display in addition to just pressure. Of course you'll need to install the internal TPMS sensors in your tires which I like better than the TST external mounted...I think the temp will indicate more accurately the tire temps being internal.

The Ford supplied cable was just long enough to place the TPMS receiver between the tires on the AS underside. I made the bumper connector the same length and the 7 pin trailer connector. You'll need to swap out your 7/4 pin bumper connector with the provided 7/12 pin connector, drop spare tire to access. Ford supplies a weather proof holder for the 12 pin for when your not using the trailer (I mounted on side of battery box) and also a 7 to 4 pin adapter you keep in your glove box.
Got any further questions? Lemme know, I'll try and answer.

I’ve installed this system on a 2004 Classic.
Tpms functionality is flawless. Data for rim size required was stamped on the inside of rim. Camera location and wires was challenging but doable. I needed to extend the provided factory wires and used

Love having a system integrated into the truck display. I know 1 other person who’s done TPMS only and had a sensor fail. Guess that can happen with any product. I have all the skills and tools and did the complete install myself.

Yes, on a 2019 F250 and it works great. I read on a Ford Truck forum that one guy didn't want to use the rear view camera and just left the wiring harness for it blocked off and the tpms worked fine without it. I connected the camera to mine.

will this system work on a 2016 F250 and 2017 Classic?

Run your VIN by a Ford parts department and they can answer that. I think you have to have a certain camera system in your truck.

Believe it only functions on 2017 or later...I investigated using the Ford Trailer TPMS system on my 2018 F350 but my truck did not have the UTT Package (Ultimate Trailer Tow) so my dealer parts guys said it would not work. So I went with TST system. I ordered UTT with my 2022 350, really like the integration into the cluster.

I installed only the TPMS portion, no camera, as my AS had one included a wireless camera. The Ford cable was wired for camera but I just left it capped off and tied up under my trailer.

My Halo camera wires go over the AS to a wireless repeater. Grabbed power from the lights on the top of the AS. You’re saying the TPMS wires go below but what about the camera wires?

Thanks for the information!! Now I’m wondering about the camera wires as I get power from the running lights on the top of my AS for the camera.

The part number you listed is the same that came on my kit and was TPMS ONLY. No camera. The cable that Ford supplied for the TPMS ONLY kit had two connectors on one end, terminated on a Y. The cable only went as far as the axles. One connector plugged into the TMPS receiver module the other connector, I imagine, would plug to an additional camera cable to complete the run to the rear of the camper to reach the camera. Camera shared the same bumper plug and TPMS so camera wiring would need to be run under camper up into the back part of camper to roof or wherever camera would be mounted on rear of camper. I'll post a matrix included with kit that breaks down what comes or is needed with each kit.

Sorry about that. Thought the part number was for the one with the camera. I ordered the one with the camera. Today is the last day that Ford is doing 20% off for registered users on accessories. Code is ACC20 if anyone is interested.

I was going to install it on my 2021 F150, the dealer talked me out of it. After reading this, I wish I had gone the ford route. My only complaint with Ford, GMC includes 4 sensors with new 1500 trucks, and it’s ready to go…no wiring, Just add sensors.

When I picked up the kit at the Ford dealer and had them put two sensors in my 2018 Sport wheels, the mechanic told me that my truck wouldn't pick up the sensors. I said ok and took them home and wired everything up and it worked fine. When I bought the 2022 FC and transferred the wiring to it and took the tires to the local tire store to have the sensors installed, I heard the same story again. The owner overheard his employee and told him that GM trucks come with 4 sensors in the glove box and to just do like I asked and install the sensors. By the way, where I put the camera and angled it down 45 degrees like the instructions said, the bottom of the picture is right behind the bumper and you can see everything from the ground back.

Awesome information. Thank you! Kit showed up yesterday. With any luck I’ll install it before we head out on the 15th.
