We always have an Amerideck equipped tow escort follow us on our bike runs for Veterans in NYC. The Amerideck operator has the bike loaded and gone withing minutes. Besides riding on a NYC highway, one does not want to be stuck on a NYC highway with a bike on a highway that has a two foot shoulder. I will also bolt two generator with anti-theft bases at the front of the deck, and quick disconnect disconnect the deck from the lift in most cases, and use the deck as a bike parking spot.

Getting good trailer tires for 14" wheels has not been an easy thing to accomplish. It wasn't until I realized how generally crappy trailer tires are that I finally, with the help of a Big O tire store owner in Page Arizona, found some that seem to be good tires for the trailer. Thunderer is the name. Having LT tires instead of trailer tires seems to have been a great decision. 3 years in and they still look and function fine. On the other hand, the Maxxis trailer tires which I thought were supposed to be so good based on reviews etc. turned out to be dangerous after only a few thousand miles. 4 out of 4 showed tread separation occurring and it was just lucky that while servicing wheel bearings I noticed a bubble on the inside of one. Left them in Page and drove off with the LT's.

I was very curious, so I checked and the listed owership title weight for an F450 King Ranch tow vehicle is right about 8600 lbs, which translates to a commercial registration fee in New York State of $122.50 per year. I am surprised the vehicle registration fees in NYS are very competitive with other states.

My TV Finally Arrived
It took three months from date of order to delivery, but my 2019 Ford F350 Limited finally came in. It was well worth the wait. Now I await the delivery of my 2019 30' Classic in Feb/Mar.

The motorcycle lift & motorcycle will be about 2,000lbs. Along with generators, and other camping gear. I know I will be using an AIRSAFE Class VI receiver hitch with weigh distribution, and equalizer sway control. I know I want a Ford truck with DRW. The Limited version of each truck fully loaded with every option available amounts to $3K difference in price betweek the F-350 Limited and the F-450 Limited. The 350 is more in line with standard vehicles such as 17" wheels, and the 450 is more commercial with 19.5" wheels. The front axle is wider on the 450. I can use some experienced input, becuase I am new to this towing life, other than a few dual axle u-hauls with my Grand Cherokee Jeep. Has anyone had any experience with either truck towing an Airstream?

Do you want 4wd or 2wd?

Good looking truck! (for a ford ) Delete the FX4 stickers and that hideous spoiler (the added looks should be worth the .5 mpg loss)

Why spend the money on the (really nice) tonneau cover if you are going to put the Amerideck Superdeck III in the bed, isn't it too tall to cover? Beautiful truck

Very nice!
With those dual rear wheels, you should be able to tow a trailer full of Airstream trailers. My brother has a "dually", and he loves it. Hope your experience is at least as good as his.

I will remove the deck, and the deck rails will allow for tailgate to close, if I am not taking the bike.

SHE SHED arrived on April 9, 2019
We picked up our 2019 Classic in the title date, and drove it to our garage. We are now learning where everything , and seeing what is still needed to be on the road real soon. It was easier to tow than expected, I didn't even notice the trailer except for a bit slower acceleration and braking, although I was a bit nervous on that first right turn.

Sweet! Did you get it at Colonial (and if so, have they moved yet)? That is where we bought ours, also with the Equalizer hitch which they seemed to set up very well.
Okay, I am a bit jealous of both the trailer and truck. That is our likely retirement setup (another 6-8 years). Have fun and safe travels!

Yes, it was purchased at Colonial Airstream. We actually put a down payment on it at the Hershey, PA rv show in September of 2018. Colonial Airstream has not moved yet. They need more space! The place was full of Airstreams too. At Colonial the techs were very helpful to a newbie like me, and recommended items I wasn't even thinking about, but made total sense.
