FJ Cruiser wiring

Hi there,
Anyone out there towing with an FJ Cruiser? I'm pulling my Airstream with a 4-wire hook up, bought the converter (I think that's what it's called) which plugs in down to the left of my clutch pedal. I did not attached the bracket of the converter to the floor panel as the directions instructed (I could not fit my hands and tool down there!) it's just dangling but plugged in correctly, don't know if that's a problem. I then plugged the actual 4-wire connection at the rear. I have re-wired the trailer and made certain that the brake lights, the blinkers, and running lights work properly on the traler's end and they do.

For some reason there is a touchy connection coming from my vehicle, my right blinker and brake do not work unless I wiggle the connection at the rear anmd sometimes it doesn't at all. I also wonder if the converter connection is a problem. I did spray electrical cleaner on each connection as well.

I'd much rather get around to the fun stuff like restoring the interior, re-building cabinets etc...

Any thoughts?
Thanks y'all
Jeph
