F350 question

The CFO wants to know what sort of fuel use we might expect from an F350. We're looking at 2012-2017 Crew Cab, single rear axle, and Lariat or above trim. This will be our only vehicle, so she would like to know for both towing and not towing.

Thanks.

4wd? Gas/diesel? Fleet side we average about 14. Heavy use including towing. 10-12 towing cargo trailers. Maybe 15 - 16 unloaded. XL trims. Gas.

To add to previous response. For turbo diesel:

14.5 driving about 60-63 in light winds even in mountains unless frequent deceleration is required (curves, very steep downgrades).
13 driving at 70 in light winds.
10-12 any speed between 50 and 75 in heavy winds especially cross winds.

Gasoline take 20% off for low elevations (<5000 feet) and 30% for high elevations

Take 5-10% off for heavily loads

If you want an explanation, let me know.

2017 F350 diesel experience

Platinum trim 2017 F350 SBCC single rear wheel we got around 16.5 average for running around town and occasional trips to the next city about 45 miles away. If I reset the "lie-o-meter" before a highway trip, it was consistently 19.5 or so for long trips including mountain roads.

Towing we saw 13-14 MPG - and these were longer trips, of course. Typical Alaska highways with mountain passes. This truck had the 6 speed transmission.

Our 2020 F250 gets 18-19 around town and as much as 23 mpg for longer trips unladen. Towing is around 14-15. This truck has a 10 speed transmission.

Hope this helps. Your mileage may vary; don't try this at home.

2017 Platinum CCSB Diesel

2017 Powerstroke 4x4. 63,000 miles. 17 mpg unladen on the freeway. 10.5 -12 pulling the 2016 International Signature 28 footer over about 20,000 of those total miles. I’m not a lead foot nor do I tow at 55 mph. You can influence the outcome (mpg) by a mile or two based on your driving style.
