F150 and 28' FC

Been reviewing multiple TV shares with the F150 shares being my favorite. Looking to drop the dollar in the coming week for a new TV as we are moving from "other brand" to the AS family.
Would appreciate updates and/or shared experience from folks who are or have been towing a 28' FC with three F150.

Welcome to the family. I have pulled two Airstreams with my F150's and have had very good results with them both. Since you are focusing on the 28FC, I have pulled it both with my 2011 F150 Ecoboost Platinum and a 2015 F150 Ecoboost Platinum. Booth did a very good job overall. I did make a change from an Equalizer hitch to a ProPride hitch when I went to the 28FC from the 25FC as the 28FC with the heavier tongue weight just didn't feel right to me even after multiple adjustments of the hitch. Just my personal experience as I am sure there are hundreds out there with differing opinions. The ProPride allows me to make adjustments with weight distribution "on the fly" depending on loads etc., without having to adjust stinger setup.

As far as pulling, we have put 20,000+ miles on the 28FC throughout the West and have had no issues. The Ecoboost has plenty of power to get up any incline you will encounter and properly controlling your descent you will have no issues as well. Gas mileage in the 11 - 11.5 maybe even 12 depending on winds. That's driving at 65 typically.

The issue for many with the F150 is the available payload in the truck along with the heavier tongue weight of the 28FC. It's one of the heaviest tongue weights of any of the Airstream models. Set it up for your trip and get it weighed. It's a heavier tongue weight due to layout and axle placement. At the same time though, depending how you pack it alters that weight a little as well. With the twin setup I have, there are three rear outside storage areas and how I end up packing my tongue balances out a little. If you are someone who carries a lot for your trips, I can't emphasize enough to watch your payload sticker on inside of driver door. We do not carry tons in the bed and our Platinum is OK. I will note that when I went from the 2011 to the 2015, we gained about 400 lbs available payload due to the shift to aluminum by Ford. Lower level models typically have more available payload. All of the goodies take up payload.

I too have a 2014 f150 ecoboost . Tow a 2016 28w FC.
Have a andersen wd hitch also put a motorcycle and motorcycle lift in the (800#) in the bed of the f150. The F150 is max tow , 11,200# and off road suspension 2000# payload.
Truck tows all this with ease up and down mountians. And it drives nice when not loaded .
I think the key is getting max tow and at least 2000# payload. I understand that the max payload on the new 150 is 3300#

Bought the 2016 F150 XLT Crew Cab 4 WD with max towing package and of course 5.3 Ecoboost. Drove it from home to DC this past weekend and averaged 19.5 MPG with a starting mileage of 300 and over 1000 on return. Most of the trip was through the mountains of WV and VA.
Anyone have towing mileage to share on the 2016?
