F-350 Diesel

Was shopping for a replacement for the Ram Cummins, looking at the new GM1500 diesels, trying to get payload around 2000lb. 2020 Superduty popped up on dealer website so I figured why not. White supercab, nice options. I thought the Dodge had amazing power...I neglected to look at the payload sticker...suspect it will be adequate.

XLT with some add ons. It doesn’t have the level of trim my Laramie had but still has plenty of options. They are at almost 1000 lb ft of torque.

Well I finally looked. 3844 lbs payload. Guess I won’t worry about adding the trifold bed cover, bed liner, and Fluid Film coating.

Looks like a nice truck. I think you would have difficulty exceeding payload with that truck! Congrats!

Have fun!

Just curious. Why are you replacing the RAM?

Took the Dodge for routine service and several people offered to buy it. Frankly was surprised how much it was still worth. Decided to sell it and the discounts were so good on the Ford (A-plan, first responder and medical professionals discount, and rebate) I just did it. The Dodge went on the dealer lot and was sold the same day. It was eight years old, treated with NH Oil and Fluid Film so there was zero rust and it was immaculate. It had just turned 40,000 miles.

I wanted something with a warranty as I will be driving it to work daily (the Dodge was used 3 times a year, only for camping. I was considering the new 1500 Duramax which also would have been a good choice. The Ford is twice the payload I need. I skipped the full four door so it would be a little shorter but it still requires some forethought when parking.

Since the pandemic and “stay at home” orders people are driving crazy and I want the largest, most visible vehicle I can get even if I am the only one in it.

Thoughts on a F350 with a Tremor package towing a GT 27FB? Is that much 4x4 going to degrade the towing experience a lot? It’s rated to tow 15,000 lbs.
