F 150 XLT Power Boost for the night

I picked up the power boost to drive for tonight and tomorrow. It has 1,869 miles and being driven by the sales manager. I leave the dealer and 10 minutes later I’m stuck in traffic for 43 minutes due to rear end collision 1/2 mile up the road. Drove it 39 miles to my house, mostly highway. 21.6 MPG. I found it very smooth, quiet and responsive.
As mentioned in reviews the brake application feels different and I got used to it pretty quickly. Visibility is good; my son noted it was better than his GMC Sierra. I like the feel and the ride.
Tomorrow I hope to put on 30-50 miles or more around town driving. I work 6 miles from my house and it’s a straight shot to my office. I will also take it where we generally shop, COSTCO etc. To be continued.

I drove approximately 110 miles, 70 miles on a two lane then four lane road, 40 miles in town type driving. I average 22.1 miles per gallon using 87 Octane based on the odometer not hand calculating. I found it to be pretty quiet, shifted smoothly and as i read the brakes were a bit “woody” but i got use to them pretty quickly. It was the short bed, no sunroof.
My wife felt the same.
Is it worth the extra money, I don’t know, I’ll find out, I bought it.

I bought the demo the sales manager was driving. This is the second truck i have owned having sold my 2017 GMC Canyon.
I don’t get too excited with vehicles, but this F 150 is pretty nice, an XLT Power Boost, averaging 21 mpg and approximately 33% of mileage is utilizing the battery technology. It’s quiet, pretty smooth and comfortable. Looking to purchased a Tonneau Cover next.

TFL truck gives really good reviews on it. I just bought a 2020 F150 XLT. Really like it. I think I have more towing capacity than the hybrid. What kind of AS do you tow?

I tow a 19’ Flying CLoud Bambi. Bought last year, used once. Going cross country in May. For 5 weeks and wanted a bigger truck.

I bought the PowerBoost with 1,970 miles on the odometer. The first tankful of gas i got 21.3 MPG, 33% on electric according to the readings on the dash. So far, I like it a lot, it’s nice riding, good visibility. The transmission is a bit clunky if that is the right word starting off until you hit 4th gear. I did buy the extended warranty to 125,000 miles because these machines are far too complicated and I’m at the age I don’t even open the hood. We are taking a 6,000 mile trip beginning May 18th towing a 19’ Bambi Flying Cloud and that should prove interesting.

I took the plunge today, and bought a new truck. After driving one, it was a done deal. Will be delivered to the dealer next Tuesday. I'm looking forward to the 10 speed transmission, and the mpg increase.
With the Micro-Start on my a/c I should be able to use the on board power unit, just every now and then while taking rest stops in transit.
Will post more as I take it out, with and with out my Caravel!

I towed the 19’ Bambi FC to Burlington Vermont to Pete’s RV and they are installing a Voyager Rear Camera. 220 miles up and down the Vermont hills. Averaged 8.49 mpg with basically little payload my wife and I, two small suitcases plus another 100 lbs of stuff.
On the way home we average 21.9 mpg without the trailer. Going back next week to pick it up.
Fortunately our daughter lives 1 mile from Pete’s.
NO AS trailers in stock. A large lot full of customer trailers to be services and new JAYCO and other manufacturers products on the property. One of the guys told me lead times for new trailers are out there whatever that means.

My 2020 F-150 non-hybrid with ECO boost and 10-speed transmission gets 19.5 mpg non-towing on the highway at about 75 to 85 mph on interstates. I would have hoped for better than a 10% increase in gas mileage with a hybrid. It seems to be a low return on the increase in complexity. Over a 1000-mile three-day trip it squeezes another ~100 miles out of the same fuel thus saving only five-ish gallons or ~$15.

Maybe I’m missing something.

Non-highway driving might be a little different story. But even then, I probably average close to the same mpg...slower speeds increasing the mpg but stops decreasing the mpg. I don’t drive much in stop-and-go traffic. If I did, the hybrid would likely deliver a bigger gap in mpg.

I have 4,000 miles on the truck and I’m using electric 35% and have seen it gradually creep up to 22.9 mpg going back and forth to work anD some highway. The rolling hills of Vermont are punishing on towing. I remember when we had an older Chevy truck, a 6 cylinder and we were towing a 19’ Starcraft boat, i thought i had a leak in the gas tank, we averaged 6mpg on a trip to the NE Kingdom of VT.
