The concern I would have with the Milenco mirrors is that they rely on the stability of the OEM mirror housing. On my 4runner the housing has much more give than the mirror itself as the housing is just a flimsy plastic cover. When I mounted clip-ons they had quite some vibe and trying to mount mirrors with more extension (and thus more leverage) on the housing would seem foolish to me. Of course every vehicle is different in that respect.

I rec'd the Areo mirrors and gave them a road test (w/o trailer) to test stability.
After initial bracket adjustment, they do attach easily and quickly. I extended them all the way out (further than I would need with our AS), drove about 70mph, and found a little vibration, but expected as I had them out so far.
My old strap on mirrors would not extend as far and restricted mirror adjustment, the Milenco's do not restrict adjustment.
Overall, I am pleased.

But then I noticed a 4"-5" section towards the front of the door where there's like a groove into which the brackets fit perfectly. It's as if toyota has made that groove for mounting the McKesh mirrors! Sweet!

What year 4Runner do you own? I have a 2008 and the body cladding extends below the metal of the door and as far as I can tell there is no lip under the door cladding for the McKesh mirror to catch.
Thanks!

I got a set of these mirrors last month and am pleased with their performance so far. I've only got about 90 miles with them at this point, but they proved to be stable and offer great visibility. The big test will be the month long trip we start this Friday to the west coast.

pickerdd: 2004 4Runner. You are correct, except towards the front of the door there is a recessed area about 4-5" long where the mirror bracket hooks in perfectly. I can snap a pic if it's not clear.

Yep. You need the mirrors. I have a set of McKesh mirrors that I want to sell. Used only once. If anyone is interested just give me a call at 248 705-2521. Will sell them for half price...buyer pays for shipping.

Hensley Mirrors
Speaking of mirrors, I have a set to Hensley Mirrors that I would love to sell. They are like new because they never fit my vehicle. I paid almost $200 for them and would sell them for $50.

I have a 2010 F150 and replaced the stock mirrors with a pair of ford extendable towing mirrors I bought on ebay for around $275.00. Install took around an hour and a half taking my time . They have all the features the stock ones had , power heated puddle lamps ,
