I was going to do the stretch myself however the dealer friend from whom I purchased the truck new in Michigan had a great relationship with Centurion Vehicles. The dealer drove my new truck 1 hour down to Centurion who completed the stretch in totally stock appearance inside the interior and outside the truck. None of that wood crap and Flexsteel seats from the van world that was so popular at the time. The truck looks like a totally stock F350 Powerstroke. The stretch was completed for only $3200 at that time with a complete new truck warranty. That was a lot cheaper than I expected to spend doing it myself.
The sticker price of this truck when new was $31,500. When I purchased this truck in September of 1994 this truck is one of the first Powerstoke trucks built with the new automatic transmission option. They were selling for sticker + at that time. My friend the Ford dealer actually ordered this truck for another customer who backed out of the deal. He sold me the truck at invoice, gave me all the holdback money and everything else. When all said and done I was in the truck COMPLETED, stretched with new Alcoa's and Michelin's installed for the FACTORY $31,500 sticker price.
Whatta DEAL!
24+ years and 200,000+ miles later I still have her and she runs and drives great. Now the truck only gets about 4K-5K miles a year always pulling some kind a trailer. I also have other trucks when needed for different purposes. I have had this truck this long I might as well just keep it. If I were to sell it I would rather have the truck than the less than $10K the truck would bring. It's also the only vehicle I have ever purchased NEW in my life and will probably be the only 1 I purchase new in my lifetime.
All these new trucks offered today are WAY TO EXPENSIVE to purchase new for me when there are so many good trucks available on the used market! Kinda like ME and all the other trucks, trailers and cars I have.
We are ALL OLD!!!!
