Cayenne tow 1969 31"?

Considering buying and renovating a 1969 31 International. I have a 2008 Porsche Cayenne. From what I gather, the weight is not problem. I am concerned about the length with the short wheel base. Advice? Experience?

If it was me, I would contact Andy Thomson at Can-Am RV in London Ontario. I would go with whatever he said. He is also on these forums from time to time.

manitou2,

pmclemore has good advice, a phone call to Andy T at CanAm will get you the advice you need. Personally I think you should be just fine provided you take some care with the set up (hitch, WD and payload) and use either friction anti-sway or better yet a ProPride or similar.

Andy's go-to hitch is the Eaz-Lift with 2 x friction sway control units. I ran with that configuration for a while with my 27FB based on his advice and was happy with it. I switched to a ProPride later - not because I felt the need to change but more because I had my heart set on a ProPride from the outset.

If you have an hour or two on your hands read this thread - http://www.airforums.com/forums/f463...rs-134917.html. Lots of good info here. I think I posted some pictures of Andy T's setup of a 30ft AS there. If you have further questions, post on that thread.

Check out this vid. You will be interested at the 130 counter. The Cayenne easily man handles an out of control trailer. Wish I had one!
