Thst’s going to be tough. An Expedition will seat that many, but may be close on tow capacity or payload. Remember to add the weight of the 7 occupants, gear and tongue weight.

7 people plus a 33'
Check out the 2017 or newer (engine power increased in 2017) Nissan NV3500 van. Ugly, yes. But it just may fill the bill for 7 people and towing a 33'. Going to be close on tow capacity rating and your going to have to watch how much extra stuff you put in the van. Plenty of Horsepower. Next up may be a used older Chevy Express or GMC Savana van with a 6.0 gas or the diesel engine. Do not think any car made today could fit 7 and tow. Years ago a big Ford or Chevy wagon with the large V-8 engines and tow packages were used to do just what your doing. those days are over. Good luck in your search.

Does it have to be new? If for some reason I decided I wanted to take 7 people camping in one trailer I’d use my Suburban 3500 diesel or ship a nice clean diesel Excursion up from Texas and use that.

Thank you!
Do you think a Land Rover Defender could do?

The Nissan V8-5.7L is the choice. Great (extra short) rear overhang. Lower center of gravity than a pickup.
Vehicles modified for off-road use are BAD on-highway tow vehicles.
Choosing ANY tow vehicle less stable than the trailer is a BAD choice.

Ford Econoline. We just finished a 4 month trip. Due to the weight distribution they tow extremely well. We have a 27 foot and don't use a stabilizer hitch. Sitting on 65 to 70 MPH was no problem.

None.
You better do a little more reading on tow vehicles. A 33' is a lot to tow with a car. The suggestion in using a 1 ton Ford transit is probably the safest with the carrying capacity of 7 people. Regular pickups only hold 5 and their cargo capacity would be limited anyway.
Get the one ton Van.

GMC 2500 XLDenali. It’s a 3/4 ton chasssie with a 6 ltr or 6.2ltr motor will tow most things known to mankind and seat 7 to 8 plus 4 dogs and room for a boat Or skis on the roof
Or get the Cadillac Escalade ESV which will really up grade your status in the neighborhood

My next question is how you are going to get around with 7 people in a 33'? A fifth wheel might be a more practical choice. I would plan on getting the Airstream when the little guys are grown.
They will thank you for the extra room.
My wife and I have a 30' classic and two is plenty thank you.

Not trying to be insulting but have you actually talked to a salesman about this purchase ? What you are proposing can't be done.

Drinks for 8, dinner for 4, sleeps 2! That's the way we look at it as we get older! But I was the oldest of 5 kids I wouldn't take anything for the times we spent camping as a family.
Good luck on your decision.

Infiniti QX80 is our tow vehicle for our 2004 30' Classic. The 'Q' tows nicely.
Listed towing capacity though is 8500 lbs, and it seats 7 - maybe 8.
Recommend contacting Andy at CanAm.ca about using the QX80.
Our son tows his 32' SOB trailer with an Expedition XL. He gets about 7 MPG with trailer attached.

The new Ford Transit Vans have very low tow ratings. The highest tow rating is just over 7000 LBS and that is the cargo T350. The Transit Wagon (van with a passenger interior) Tow rating is under 5000 LBS. The Transit van also has no frame. They are unibody. I checked these vans out extensively before buying a used 2013 Ford E150 XLT Premium van with the max tow package. (8600 GVW, 2530 LB cargo capacity) This van pulls our 2017 23D fine. I do not think it would pull a 33 AS with 7 people in it. Not enough power. An older model with the 6.0 oil burner may do it. The 2017 and newer Nissan NV3500 would be my choice.

A fifth wheel only addresses half of the equation. What would you suggest to tow it with to accomodate 7 people?

No it won’t. Not then or now. And bad GM steering geometry.
Wouldn’t stand a chance against a Durango or Expedition.
