Bambi and TV

Hello all. We are finally getting serious about buying and I have concern about TV for Bambi. I have Jeep GC with tow package - 6200#, TW 620. I have assumed this would be good for 16RB Bambi, pushing it for a 19 and not enough for a 22. However, looking at specs on airstream.com it seems this would be fine for any Bambi. Is there something I am missing? Thanks for any advice.

Yes. You are missing something. Airstream specs in the brochures lie. As a decent real world estimate, increase the brochure specs by about 50%.

The max weight of the trailer will be under the spec stated by AS. If it's over, that's because you have put to much stuff in it. The tongue weight is highly dependent on how you load the trailer. Folks do indeed see tongue weights that are 20 to 50% higher than what the brochure would lead you to believe.

I towed a 19’ with a 2011 grand Cherokee 6 cyl. It handled great but was way underpowered. Also the actual TW of the 19’ was closer to 850lb so exceeded the vehicle rating.
