Anyone tow a 23D with a Ford Raptor?

We are looking for a new tow vehicle for our 23D corner bed. Just curious if anyone has experience with a Ford Raptor as the Tow Vehicle?

Hitch

One thing to consider is the proper hitch height you will need to pull with. Depending on how high the Raptor is lifted, you might need a special hitch shank to get you to the correct position.

We have towed our 27FB with both a 2015 and (now) 2018 Ford Raptor. The soft rear suspension does compress a little more than I like, but it is very stable and comfortable when towing. That being said, it is right at the payload limit so we can't load up the truck very much. We do love our Raptor so we make due.

The 23D looks to have a little less hitch weight, so it should be a really nice match for the Raptor. Just don't expect to load up too much stuff in the truck bed.

You should be fine. I just towed our 2016 23FB from San Diego to New York with a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. They have similar capacity (Ford 6000/1000 vs Toyota 6800/1280). Note, the FB has a lower hitch weight than yours. The comments about loading the truck are correct, keep the load to the minimum. You will suffer at the gas pump with mid weight. My wife's Ram 2500 cummins diesel barely notices the load.

I have Riderite airbags (carry a 110v compressor), Bilstien shocks and a wieght distribution hitch and a Tekonsha brake controller.

Payload is the issue. It will be around 1000, maybe 1100 pounds. 23D will take up 600-700 pounds of that, leaving you with 300-400 for passengers and gear. If that’s not an issue, it will, tow just fine. I love the way the look and drive, but with a few dogs at 75-80 each and two hides at 150 combined, then weight of me and the wife, just wouldn’t work.....
