Well, we towed without the Hensley. We moved our daughter and son-in-law back to Ohio from Washington DC this past December and we rented a 6 x 12 U-Haul. We towed on a ball hitch and to my surprise it did quite well. This was with traveling at highway speeds except when we encountered snow in the elevations.Click image for larger version

We just came back from San Diego last week with a Tahoe. A guy passed us at 75mph+ towing a Uhaul just like that...we noticed it was swaying back and forth, but he obviously did not notice. When he changed lanes in front of me, it really swayed a few times...I flashed my lights, but he just kept going..likely didn't notice. We both were astonished he did not notice the sway...been towing a long time; always hate to see sway when it can be prevented with safe speed and proper SC.

Highway speeds as in 65mph max. Usually around 60ish. U-haul posted on the trailer 55 mph max but when towing on empty stretches of highway it was hard not to go a little faster. In the snow in the mountains I was at about 35 mph. On hilly state routes near home I would crest a hill at a crawl as not to go down the next too fast. I had my first white knuckle experience down one curvy icy hill but fortunately I stayed on the road and no one was coming up the hill. I was glad to get home.
