Hi

Ummm ... errr .... I'm not sure if this is a customer vehicle or something Andy is keeping for himself. It *might* have started off as a customer vehicle ...

I don’t think he cares. However I think it might be reasonable. 60 mph was pretty effortless in 6th gear at 1500 rpm.

I came across a picture a few days ago of a C6 Corvette Grand Sport you did for a guy near me towing a 23' AS? That TV had no room for the dog but this one has it!

This one is an automatic but a manual would be awesome.

It was a reasonably easy hitch to do. There is more room under there than you would think and a solid structure to fasten to. No exhaust changes were needed. This one is a previous generation model. Let me look under a new one before you buy one.

The Corvette was very limited by load capacity so 23FB modified to 380 hitch weight was the only option for it. The Camaro has plenty of capacity and seems to barely notice the 700 pounds of this 25.

I think it's time to update the airstream slalom video and that looks like the perfect ride to do it
Perhaps in Canada.

We had a lot of devastation to clean up in our area after the hurricane in September. Many people brought open wagon and cage trailers to our area to capitalize on clean up. I do not know to what extent this occurred but, I witnessed two different haulers pulled over by police. What made it interesting is that the first one on Metro Parkway had the trailer unhitched and they were weighing the tongue weight! This was the first time I have seen law enforcement checking something like this. Neither of the trailers had overflowing items but they were large trailers being hauled by small sized pickups in both cases full of tree trunks, etc.

P.S. Love the red Porsche! Eh, and the Camero too!

How were they weighing it? And what specs were they using? Just curious, been to a few trailer wrecks and never saw LE weigh anything.

Does the GoPro mount on the hood looking back or on TT looking forward for the final test run?

I just have to ask, is there any reinforcement of the "A" frame to the trailer frame? I can just see that Camaro pulling the front of the trailer off without too much trouble.

I am amazed that the transmission and differential/axle are up to the task of towing a large trailer. I wonder what the life of the car would be if subjected to a lot of towing.

It's basically the same engine as the Silverado maxtow. I assume it is an LS1, 6.2 l. Silverado has the L86 6.2;l 420 horse/460 torque.

What items do you look at to address hitch weight modification, and there order of importance.

The transmission and differential are designed to handle the 460 hp of the standard engine. No reason to expect premature wear.

Yes there is. Let's just take the diff. While it can handle the full torque of the car going, say, zero to 120mph over, say 20 seconds, the temp buildup of extended cruising at a substantially higher torque (due to very high continuous load) will take it's toll. Will it explode pulling away from a stop? No. But overloading is cumulative.
That's just one component. The system will suffer.

Just cuz you can build it, doesn't mean you should drive it. I think first, or 13th, time there is a large tractor trailer passing event, Mr. Bernoulli will have an opinion on the outcome. Caution will give way to complacency or thrill and there will be another sad video of crumpled aluminum and junked car in the files.

While Airstreams are heavier than they used to be, they are not really heavy trailers.

The Camaro will last and be safe so long as the driver avoids driving it like a race car while trailering.
