95 Dodge Dakota

We have a 28 ft. 1960 Ambassador Airstream that is in South Dakota and I need to get it to Colorado Springs CO (600 miles) sometime in the near future, so we can work on it to fix up.
Can a 95 Dodge Dakota Sport club cab 2WD with a 318 V8 motor, tow this safely? According to the dodge dealer it is capabile of towing 6450 lbs. I am questioning this, has anyone towed a setup similar to this?
The weight of the AS on the title is 4580 lbs.
I plan to install a class III hitch with a 800 lb weight distribution connection and sway control.

check the sticker on the driver's door jamb. it will list the ratings.

verify that the tires on the truck now, match or exceed the tires listed on the tag.

verify the receiver specifications. i don't think you'll find one for that truck rated more than 7,500 lbs with weight distribution. if it has one already on it. inspect it and the frame for rust and cracks.

verify the gear ratio (3.55 or 3.92?)
