We just got back from Sequoia NP last week. The CA wildfires are real bad in the mountains. Yosemite NP was closed down the day before our reservation. Smoke is an issue. Check it out before you leave.
BTW, we pull our 23FB with a 2019 Ranger with ease.

Nice looking truck.

Our truck hasn’t seen 9th or 10th gear on flat terrain on tow haul mode. When we’re on flat terrain I don’t use it and cruise in tenth gear.

It did a fine job, but we wanted better braking and grade pulling capacity. So we upgraded to the new f-250. The tremor is an off road beast, so it should do fine towing our 23, and if we get into some light snow on the road hoping it does great. We are about to go boondocking in the Sierras at the end of the month and are excited about our new TV!

Just a funny: We had a Ford van with the 460 gas engine and the license plate had been "GASZILLA" It had two gas tanks and we soon learned why!!

Real nice truck. I saw one a couple of weeks ago while we were filling up at the pump. He pulled up at the other side. 400 and something horsepower.

They are very soft in the back. You're going to need to add leafs or airbags or rubber helpers.

The 6.7 diesel eats up about 800 of payload. Why I got a F-350.

Roush 150 retains the tow and payload capacity of the original truck. In this particular XLT trim it is 11,000 & 1690 lbs respectively.
The Raptor is softer and with my 23fb it squated 3", but my WD bars pulled it up to within .75" of original height. Of course a 27fbt has twice the tongue weight of the 23'

Does anyone have the 7.3L with 3.73 differential gears? And how is that working for you?

No idea; we haven't weighed it yet. I weighed the F150 with the same trailer and stuff and realized I was a bit overweight. I haven't added anything by switching trucks so I know I am well under payload. We actually do not have a CAT scale very handy to where I live but I will weigh the whole thing later, but likely never empty.
And yes, to the other comment, I realize that the diesel eats up payload but I needed this truck in somewhat of a hurry in August 2019 and the 7.3 wasn't out yet. And at the time I could not find an F350 with anything but a black interior and my wife forbids a black interior! Plus I am not intending to add much to the payload until I retire in perhaps six years, at which time I will likely upgrade to an F350.

Can’t answer the “how is that working” part of the question, but I just ordered a F350 7.3 with 3.73. I’ve agonized over the decision of 3.73 vs 4.30.
And what I’ve conceived myself is this: I will never tow 8800 lbs and am more likely to get a smaller trailer versus larger. While I use the truck 90% towing, I like the idea of doing under 2k RPMs at 75 MPH on the freeway when not towing.
At 60 MPH, I would be doing just under 2k RPMs in 8th which seems pretty ideal for towing medium weights as well, then dropping down to 7th hops RPMs up to nearly 2400, which I would imagine going over overpasses, etc.
Also, I’ll never have bigger tires than the 275/70/18 that come with the truck because I wouldn’t be able to fit it in my garage.
Of course if I’m wrong about all of that, I can always buy 4.30s after the fact. Not cheap, but not enough to cause me to want to get rid of an otherwise great truck.
Would love to have the option of 3.90 or 4.10 also, but it seems that no such ratios exist even in the aftermarket for the Dana M275 axle.

I'm so jealous with all you's 7.3! I only have a 150 HDPP XLT and don't plan to upgrade because we're happy with the 2451 payload and w/o the bells and whistles that I don't really need. Now, if the wife says that the kitchen sink isn't enough to bring along and wants to bring the jacuzzi then it's time to get that godzilla! Release the krakken!

That’s a great truck. We had a 2014 F150 with the max tow and HD payload with the 3.5 eco boost. It was a great truck but it was an Xl. I tried to order a 2020 with some upgrades like you’d find in a Lariat but couldn’t get one with that package. The XLT was all we could get. Having power and heat and comfortable seats on the passenger side was a must. We got that in the super duty.

I am also doing research on 2020 super duty with 7.3l and 10 speed transmission, and would be interested in real world experience with any of the following: 3.5 (available only in F250), 3.7 (available only in F350), 4.3 (available in both F250 and F350). I'm pulling a 25' FB, so with the 10 speed and the 7.3, even the 3.5 might be acceptable? No sense in removing better MPG for non-towing, if hill/mountain towing is acceptable with the lower ratios. I put on a good number of non-towing highway miles.

We have the 3.55 transmission and towing a 25’ forward bed safari. I believe you can order a 3.73 transmission in a 250. But the 3.55 does quite well for us.

Coaster, thanks for the feedback. My gut feel was that the 3.55 would be fine with the 7.3l and the 10 speed for a 25' FB, but always best to hear real world feedback.
You can order a 3.7 in a F250, but not with the 7.3l, only with the 6.2l, and you can only get the 6 speed with the 6.2l in a F250, despite that combination being available in the F350. The F350 with 6.2l/3.7 is about $2k more than the F250 with 7.3l/3.5, and it costs another $1700 get the 7.3l in the F350. Given how much these trucks cost, those adders are not going to break the bank, but if you have no need of the extra payload in the F350, no sense in spending the money.
I've attached the relevant section of the 2020 super duty order guide.

Realized my cost numbers were a little off in my prior post above. F350 with 6.2l/10 spd/3.73 is $500 less than F250 with 7.3l/10 spd/3.55. Changing F350 to 7.3l/10 spd/3.73 makes it $1200 more than F250 w/7.3l/10 spd/3.55. (I'm not considering the 6 speed transmission, so comparison excludes that.)
