2018 Ford F-150 specs

Wow, most likely over 13,000 lbs for the diesel!

Cheers
Tony

Hi

At what point does a F-150 become an F-250? Since they share a cab, Ford seems to have been playing some games in this regard.

It will interesting to see how the diesel in the F150 specs out when it finally becomes available. Speculation is that it will be a 3.0L V6 but I've been unable to find power and torque numbers.

It's also interesting that the max tow rating for the 2018 is now apparently 13,200lbs. The 3.5L EcoBoost twin turbo with 470 lb/ft of torque mated to the 10 speed transmission are carryovers from 2017 to 2018 so I wonder where the additional 1000 lbs of tow capacity comes from. And of course that 13,200 pound rating is for a stripped 2WD model.

A properly equipped diesel F250 is tow rated for up to 18,600 lbs and a GCWR or 25,700 so there is still quite a bit of room between the F150 and F250

I hope they sell like hotcakes. Maybe the Super Duty trucks will get better incentives and discounts.
