Tow vehicle capacity

Just check the numbers on the driver’s door post. What rear end? Is it a 4 X 4?

We tow our 2014 FC 25 FB Twin with a 2016 F150 Lariat 2.7 Eco-Boost and are averaging 13 MPG. We did pot air bags on the rear end of the truck just for a little lift. We also have a Pro-Pride hitch.

There are several threads on which tow vehicle on the Forum. (and many opinions also) Pulling is not the issue; there are several other factors...after all, many vehicles, including a VW can pull the darned things; perhaps not as efficiently as other vehicles...you should study your trucks specs for maximum weight on your AS, and verify with your loads (water, food, etc) at a truck scales to be sure., Also, look at the rating on the door jam, to see max payload...that includes passengers, cargo, and tongue weight of your Airstream. Don't go by what anyone tells you, especially the sales guys...I've seen some posting that the new F150 with the 2.7EB is being used and they seem happy. All comes down to your specs and how comfortable you are with the power/torque of your TV. Note the sticker below...The combined weight of this vehicle including occupants and cargo should never exceed 1323 lbs. Your truck will have a unique sticker also based on how it was equipped...each one is different.

As for the Airbags comment, there are also several threads on this...don't be fooled by airbags; they do not replace proper loading...if your vehicle is not loaded properly with a WDH, and your not within specs, you may be taking unnecessary risks. The airbags will not fix the problem; just make it look level. my 2 cents...

3.55 rear axle and is not a 4X4.
