2016 Chevy Suburban
Chevy suburban is reviving the 3/4 for 2016. This is the good news. However, it is restricted to fleet orders only. This means that the rental car companies, along with the secret service, will be able to order a LS or LT trim 4x4 suburban for the upcoming season. The general public will be able to purchase them used when the rental companies rotate their fleet for new replacement units. GM dealers will have the first crack at purchasing them when the fleet gets turned over. You can expect the 2016 pre owned units to hit the lots around spring/summer/fall of 2016. The engine is going to be the 5.3 V8 according to published materials at this point

I'm glad to hear that the Suburban 2500 is returning to the lineup for 2016. I sure hope that it will eventually morph into a retail-available unit with at least the 6.0 Vortec or the new mini-Duramax.
I have been a longtime fan of the 3/4 ton Subs, having had three of them over the last 15 years.

Might be able to buy it directly thru certain dealers. There were a number of dealers selling the Caprice directly to consumers as well.
This is good news though.

There is a fleet manager at Sullivan-Parkhill Chevrolet in Champaign, Illinois. Not sure if he has any information yet on fleet ordering for the 2016 model year product,,but he is very helpful and knowledgeable. He has been a wonderful,person to work with. I have purchased several vehicles from him over the years and he will not promise something unless he knows he can deliver.

What I read about this was that it was going to be a Heavy Duty 1500, which is why it will have the 5.3l engine.

Glad to hear about the 2500. A diesel would be a nice offering. Otherwise, the 6.2L gas currently available in the Yukon XL Denali is a good alternative with more torque and HP than previous big blocks.
