Hubby went and looked at the lot and agrees that this is the direction we should go in. We'll be trying to take advantage of the end of year close outs.

Obviously you are not in the Wyoming Oil Patch business with these guys. Urban Cowboys do not know a truck from a sports car.

Several interesting facts about the 2006 Tundra and the (2007) 2008 Tundra and the 2014 Tundra...

- The 2006 Tundra has a wider turning radius than the 'larger' 2007 and later Tundras.

- The 2007 Tundra has these bulging tail lights that if you are turning sharply, the tail light can 'collide' with your gravel guard and Airstream aluminum skin creating a DENT. (I had an Equalizer Hitch with the chain drop, at the time.) Not an issue with the 2006 Tundra lengths.

My current Equalizer using the 1000# bars has a longer shank...(?)

- The 2014 Tundra has tail lights that are back to less is better... than more bulge.

If you keep your speed under 65, decent fuel mileage. Headwind, less. Over 65mph, less mileage. Undulating mountain roads... just do not look at the mpg, it does not matter by then.

The brake discs and front end on the 2007, and later Tundras, are superior to most, if not all other 1/2 ton vehicles in comparison. In 2007 Toyota displayed examples to compare when introducing the new model. The tee shirts were given out for looking... a Win / Win!

Thanks Ray. You have confirmed many of my suspicions.

Have a 26' Argosy. The Tundra handles it with ease.

We had a 25' FB and and had no problems. The 27' weights are not that different and others have over the last ten years towed 27's with Tundras without a problem. All Tundras since 2007 have been the same truck except for some cosmetic changes. The TRD option may be better for towing since the suspension is improved. The Crew Max is the heaviest Tundra and has less cargo capacity, so you will have to limit what you carry in the truck and watch tongue weight.
