Fully independent suspension, rack & pinion steering, trailer sway control plus electronic stability controls . . It is very attractive in the EL version.

It is nice to see them finally put a modern drivetrain in it. I was hoping for an aluminum body but I guess that will wait until the next refresh.

The very robust and overbuilt independent rear suspension makes it one of the best handling full size truck tow vehicles.

The 18 & 22" tires have a lot of sidewall sway but the 20's are pretty good. On short model the 20's can be tweaked a little for even more stability.

What is the payload on these with 4x4 and the HD towing package? I can't seem to find any payload numbers on the Ford site. 9200lbs towing which is fine for the 28' and smaller AS but will payload be exceeded?

Check the axle ratings. That means more.

Car & Driver just did a Tahoe vs. Expedition comparison test, they said the Expedition drove better and had more cargo room. I think it was in the January issue.

I looked at Ford's towing guide for the Expedition. It says the receiver is rated for 920 pounds. I think they should have given it a beefier receiver. (maybe Andy T. paid them off, so all the Expedition buyers would go up to Can-Am to have their receiver strengthened?)
