05 gmc ?

So on the rear bumper next to the Lic Plate is a black cover. Inside the cover is a plastic pipe going over the spare tire and then forward. Anyone know what it is for and if it goes all the way to the engine compartment.
Also, is the center lead on the GMC plug backup lights?

The pipe is where you insert the jack rod to crank down the spare tire. There should be a lock on the black cover so that noone can steal your spare tire. The pipe just goes to the spare tire.

Not sure about the backup lights.

Both my '97 & '05 General Motors products have the pin assignments cast into the 7-pin receptacle's hinged cover. That would be the best place to get your answer.

Glad I didn't get a flat

Truck didn't have a plug, got my own so I'll get out the meter. The new trailer pigtail is not wired correctly. Got it from etrailer. The brown, yellow, red, and green are moved to different pins. The gauge for the black, white and blue are OK. Talk about quality control...
