Zep, as you know, the Front Range gets hammered in the spring and the Western Slope gets to see spring, as it is known in other regions, sooner. We had an inch of snow overnight, but the grass is looking greener and the deep snow areas are disappearing.

Good morning New York and all the ships at sea, Spring has sprung in Colorado and it's getting deeper by the minute...
Zep
PS--funny how these photos, taken weeks or months apart, tend to look exactly the same...

We got six inches in my spot of the four corners by Thurs a.m. and thankfully it has all melted away! Go Spring!

It must be the extra 2000 feet up.
I have not seen a single snow flake, but there has been 1 1/2 of rain in the last two days. Its still raining.

But it's sunny! Love it, love it, love it.

Colorado was the only place I ever lived where "60's and snowing" was not an unusual forecast.

We had 2" early yesterday, by 10 am it was gone. My favorite forecast in Colorado is "thundersnow". When we lived on the Front Range it happened in January complete with thunder, lightning and lots of heavy wet snow. Supposed to back to the 60's tomorrow.

I haven't had the heart to take any pictures but my Airstream has been covered in snow for most of the past 4 weeks. I managed to sneak out between snow storms at the very end of April for a rather cold weekend in the Moab area and it's snowed since I returned. It's snowing now and is supposed to snow through Sat. night, then finally some decent weather starting on Sun. I don't mind the winters living up here but these springs are killing me.

We had showers and thunder today. Early yesterday some snow and slush and rain. Generally lousy weather for a week. I always thought I'd like to move to Oregon someday, but now I know I don't.

I concur with PACERIZED. I've been thinking I could POR-15 the frame on the Safari any day now, since the middle of April, but it's snowed about every third day. After the year of the Hayman Fire, I won't complain about precipitation of any kind, but this is making a laughing stock of my schedule (more than usual, that is ).
What a coincidence. Yesterday we were also talking about how this whole spring has felt more like Oregon than Colorado.

Pretty much the same here. I was rushing like mad to get all of our outside picnic tables pressurewashed and Thompsons-treated before the storm hit. The job is done, but what a task. (Of course, the instructions for the Thompsons indicate application only when temps are at/above 50 for 48 hours, but since that never happens here, whattheheck.)

Another dreary day. One level of clouds below us down in the valley, another at about 8,000'. Forecast is for chance of rain or snow showers today, rarely seen large yellow ball in sky tomorrow, showers back Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for Portland is partly sunny today, then showers or rain through Friday. There's no escape.

50 years and 9 days of experience qualifies me to advise you that moving to Portland or Seattle will certainly increase your days of precipitation and dreary clouds. The temperature will be noticeably warmer in winter and cooler in summer however. If you want to move to Oregon for improved weather get east of the Cascades. I recommend the area around Bend. The weather there is about like the Front range. but I guess that would complete a round trip.
Why don't you move a couple miles west of me, then you could be Hygiene Gene.
Regards,
Ken

Sunny and 60's today. A couple of days to work on the trailer exterior plus other outside work. No snow in the forecast this week.
Actually I like Oregon but I expect the rain would eventually make me loony. I'm too used to low humidity and sunny skies.

I had to put sun block on the last couple of days so that I wouldn't burn! Interestingly enough, the snow pack in the San Juans is less than usual and I'm afraid we're looking at an extension of the drought in SW Colorado. Took the t@b over to LaVeta for a couple of days and seemed to dodge the front range weather.

If it's still too cool in Colorado, try the desert to warm you up. Phoenix had it's first triple digit (101) day of the year today, but it was not as warm at my house, we only went up to 98.

No thanks Richard...we're heading for 87 tomorrow- that's warm enough! And to think, last weekend there was still snow on the ground for our Luau Rally! Gotta love it!

I prefer freezing rather than frying. You keep the heat and I'll keep my windbreaker.

Me too. It was in the upper 70's this afternoon and I nearly died of heat stroke.
