Furnace won't shut off

Ok. So we bought a 69 Tradewind. Almost everything that is touched seemed to need repair. That is why when the furnace worked with the flip of a switch I was extatic. The first time that is... Last summer we took it out on a 90 deg weekend and my 3 yr old decides it would be fun to play with the thermostat. Furnace worked just fine...except it wouldn't shut off. We were swealtering. I turned off the gas, but the blower continued to try and burn gas. I had to dig in the wall to cut the hard wire hot line to make it stop. Anyone have this happen to them? Suggestions? Looks like the furnace is not original. It's not the original furnace I don't think...Suburban NT24SP propane furnace. I have been looking around and seem to think it may be the limit switch or the fan switch. As they are north of $50, I would like to only replace the correct one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Starting three threads only adds to the confusion for a problem.

Sorry, just thought I'd try to cover more ground since no one replied to my first inquiry five months ago.
