Dehumidifier or humidifier?

We winter in the southwest, where the air is pretty dry all the time. Right now the humidity in our trailer (not an Airstream) is 16% and I'm getting some evidence of static electricity. Do Airstreams have some sort of system that keeps all humidity in the trailer? Or do you run a dehumidifier in the summer in Missouri (and other humid States) only?

As a general rule, the problem with trailers in the winter tends to be excess moisture and not too little. This is usually due to the heat being used and the trailer being closed up to outside air.

I've yet to hear anyone complain that their Airstream was too dry inside, although there are sure to be some who think so.

But no, Airstreams don't have any type of humidity control other than the a/c in the summer to remove it.

Now that we have our Airstream I can make some real comparisons. It is still dry in here, but not quite as dry as the SOB. I think that is mainly due to no slides with their large gaps, so the moisture inside is able to stay inside.

The other side of that, though, is that the Airstream has metal everywhere, and when it is dry, you WILL get zapped. I do leave the vent in the potty room open when showering, just to let some of the excess moisture escape.
