Cold and windy

We've had some breeze today, 35 gusting to 50, and we've noticed a huge difference between our previous SOB and the Airstream. NO movement in the Airstream! I suspect that being three feet closer to the ground has something to do with that. The rounded shape certainly helps, and having each of the stabilizers properly adjusted helps some, too.

Perhaps I should explain that last bit. Our SOB had electrically-operated stabilizers, which were very convenient, but both front stabilizers operated from the same motor, as did the two rear ones. If the distance from the bottom of the retracted stabilizer to the ground is the same on both sides of the trailer, all was good. If it is pretty close, still good. Two inches difference, though, and not so good. The high side would be tight while the low side would be loose.

We're about to have the coldest temperatures this winter - lows in the mid teens for two nights. I'm going to dump and fill tomorrow (upper 50's) and then again on Tuesday (40). May decide to wait until Wednesday (low 50's). We'll see.

The winds are pretty normal for here. The weather guessers don't even mention the wind until it gets over 30. 50 gusting to 80 is not all that rare.
