Infinity Luxury Woven Vinyl Flooring in my 1988 Classic Motorhome

I wanted to share some photos of my new floors. After just shy of 30 years & 7 years of full-time living my original mauve carpet was dirty & tired. I was looking for something a little more pet friendly than carpet but I still wanted a cushioned, comfortable floor. Thankfully I need not look any farther than the new Classic Airstream for my choice of flooring. Infinity Luxury Woven Vinyl. This flooring is waterproof, stain resistant, padded and is really tough. It is even rated for use in golf spike zones! I am still working on the interior of my Airstream but the floors are done. Naturally my cabinets look dingy now that I'm seeing them against the backdrop of the new floors so I plan to refinish them as well as the walls. I have the flooring stapled down so i can easily peel it back and tuck drop cloths under it before I do any paint work. Anyhow... what does everyone think?

That does look great. You are making me feel better about the flooring coming in the trailer on order. I keep hearing great things about it and I was feeling it was going to be the first thing to go. I must say, it goes well with the pupster!

Thank you. The pups love the floor. (I think?) Which Airstream are you getting?

Beautiful job! You are a certifiable pattern-making, pattern-following genius!

Yep

Hmmm...

Good installation job, but the 1950's pattern doesn't really jive with the 80's mauve-and-oak style of the coach.

You could always get a set of 50's suitcases to pull it all together to complete the look though, the material matches perfectly:

Thank you! I watched a You Tube video by SailRite on making patterns & used their Dura Scrim pattern material to make the pattern. It made the job way easier and a little less nerve racking

I totally agree. The mauve is dead. Only two small pieces on the dinette backs left to remove & replace. I thought the cabinets looked great until the flooring went in. Now I'm planning to refinish them, I may even have them refaced. Love the suitcases & thanks for your input

As owners of a 2017 Classic and ones who love the Infinity Flooring which was standard on our unit we think you made a great choice and the installation looks terrific - congratulations, many more safe and happy years.

I am getting a 2018 Classic. If you were to have the cabinets refaced, what color would you do?

I have not yet decided but I do really like the Wilsonart Asian Night laminate. It is a definite maybe lol.

The new floor looks GREAT! We pulled our old floor and installed Infinity LWV just about a year ago. I must say we love it! Although, I'd advise NOT testing the golf spike claim After a year it's wearing great, stays cool in the AZ heat (likely thanks to the 1/4" padding ) and is always a relief to bare feet.
Good work!

Good idea! I'd stay with a gray/black "moonstone" color palette...while I love earth tones and orangy woods, they just don't go with gray industrial flooring.

Wilsonart has some great laminates in such gray-ish dystopian colors. A zillion to choose from. I like their distressed wood series such as this:

That'd really make that floor pop!

That looks really nice. I was originally planning to go with gray for the cabinets. My mother, who is a 'designaholic' keeps telling me I'm using too much gray so she has me doubting myself. The Asian Night laminate is supposed to have gray tones in it and it looks darker in person. Airstream has used it quite a bit in the International Serenity model. I'm all for going gray on the cabinets and wooden wall panels though. I'll have to get some samples and give it lots more thought. I'm not close to having picked out a color yet. I've barely had time to think about it as, like I said, I was pretty happy with my cabinets until I saw them next to the new flooring now they look VERY orange to me.

Thank you! I love the way it feels on my bare feet. You wouldn't think the padding was thick enough to make a lot of difference but after walking on bare subfloors for a month it feels great!

1992 Classic 350 LE redo

We just put down Ozite carpet in grey and I painted the awful yellow oak cabinets a semigloss black. I'm going with the classic black and tan decor as the backdrop and color can be added with accessories. Of course the gold hardware and fixtures got sent down the road also. It's stunning. No longer screams 1990s. We just finished a 7,000 mile journey in the US and Canada and loved living in it.
